ABOUT ME

After travelling the world on my gap year and then completing a BA in English Literature at the University of East Anglia, I decided to take the leap and go freelance in television.

I worked in TV for over two years as a Runner in many different capacities. I was then able to put my writing into practice as a Script Reader for Funny Women, a community dedicated to supporting female comedy talent, headed by Jo Brand.

After continuing work as a Runner on many popular Entertainment series such as Taskmaster and The Circle, I had a real sliding-doors moment when Daisy May Cooper headhunted me to assist with her writing the first series of Am I Being Unreasonable

Following my fair share of trials and tribulations (largely down to Covid and the slow decline of terrestrial television) I moved into Development as a Researcher.

The next step up was to Senior Researcher and then Assistant Producer within Casting, Welfare, and Forward Planning.

By this point I'd been firmly routed within TV for around 5 years. Now was my chance to get some shooting experience under my belt.

After forming strong connections at a few of my favourite production companies, I trusted to shoot on the much loved BBC woodworking series, The Repair ShopThere is a lot to say about earning your place in technical or shooting roles as a woman in TV, but that conversation is for another time...

It wasn't until 2024 that I stepped up to Producer. This was a leap made possible through hard work, perseverance, and building strong working relationships with teams that could put their faith in me.

A year later, I've continued to work as a Producer in unscripted TV, and have also managed to get some more shooting experience under my belt, stepping back down to AP to hone my shooting skills (remember growth isn't always linear!).

If there is one thing you should know about me, it is that I will always tell you as it is. This space is to help uplift those that hope to work in TV and wherever I can, I will provide advice and guidance to those that are willing to put in the work. But you should know upfront, I will never sugar coat anything...

This has been my journey so far, and if it’s taught me anything, it’s that there’s no single route into TV. Everyone’s path looks different. If you’re looking for advice on taking those first steps, please feel free to get in touch!
